All of our locations are in the heart of vibrant small towns made of wonderful stores, restaurants, and artisans. Back in December, our West Chester store collaborated with one of their neighbors—Gemelli Gelato—to come up with a culinary masterpiece. Gemelli’s gelato maestro Vincent Tettamati created three amazing flavors using our balsamic vinegars and olive oil, one of which he is taking on the road!
He has been selected to compete in the prestigious international competition, the Gelato World Tour. The tour travels internationally in search of the best gelato flavors in the world, and this round will take place in New York City on April 27.
Vincenzo is competing for a chance to enter the Gelato World Tour grand finale, which will be held in Rimini, Italy to crown the best gelato Maestri in the World. The competing Maestri will bring their ingredients and handcraft their respective flavors fresh on site for a professional jury to decide, based on presentation, structure & flavor.
Vincenzo’s farm fresh gelato flavor was selected based on the reputation of the maestro and the gelato shop, the perfect balance of the truly artisanal gelato recipe and the creativity of the flavor proposed. The competing flavor is Vincenzo’s Goat Cheese & Fig Balsamic Reduction; creamy, fresh goat cheese gelato folded with “L’Acetaia” Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and fig reduction.
To celebrate this accomplishment, the flavor will also be available in Gemelli’s gelato case (12 West Market Street) for the whole week of April 24. Stop in to try this gourmet flavor, Goat Cheese & Fig Balsamic Reduction; you don’t want to miss one of the best gelato flavors in America.
Congratulations and buona fortuna, Vincenzo!
